Hey mate, I ordered a motorola lite phone off ebay and received it through the post there and I am jst finished taking the phone apart. My motorola came with a spare flip pad. You kind of need two flip pads for it to work. I got a dremel tool with a circular bit and basically cut the flip pad off the motorola fone and carefully cut through the two hinge parts on the flip. (this is while the phone was together obviously). eventually I was carfully and slowly able to cut my way through the hinge just about enough to pull the old flip off using a pir of pliars. Then with the flip off you can just move the we hinges over to the side abit freeing that part of the phone. I then put my new flip pad there and its held inplace with wee dowell rods. You will have to ebay about abit for a spare flip pad for it as the old one will be ruined in this process. They shouldnt be that hard to get, I was fortunate enough to have one free with the phone.

I forgot to say mate I have a spare flip pad for the motorola lite phone. Its not the exact model the show used as they used a motorola ultra lite model, however its exactly the same apart from the one fact, its a slightly darker shade of grey. If your interested just give me a shout!

I'm ot sure if the flip portion is designed the same way, but, on the DCP550s, they have pins that hold it on from inside the case. You should be able to remove them, once you disassemble the case itself, with little difficulty, and, without damaging the case or panel.
