This is my version of the Egyptian timer replica, its replicated after the Egyptian timer version from the Episode where they got it, "slide like an egyptian". This timer had the two bargraph displays closer together than the later props. (They made several for the show). Its the furtherest i've got to date as far as making one complete. It doesn't have the keypad or the two bullet type portal emmiters. I desigined and can get the shiney brand new faceplate (that goes over the readout) professionaly made and printed reverse underneith 2mm thick acrylic, so the top side appears shiney. I thought the effect looks lovely enough. I'm not the most technical person, however it does have a small slide switch on the rear that turns the display on as seen in the photos. Sorry about the camera glare. Its hard to get a good shot of it. It definately looks better in real life. I would love to have my hands on the keypad they used for the original prop as it would look lovely routed into the shiney cover instead of the print.

That is a beautiful replica!
Wow!

Excellent work deanslider!

The Egyptian Timer is my favourite of the timers. I started working on it before I switched to my Original Timer designs. I still plan on making one after I finish my original.
Its good to know that someone has made such a beautiful replica.

How did you do the scarab design for the timer's base?

Regarding the keypad, the part is a Grayhill 12 key (3x4) customizable keypad. I've got the spec sheet at home, and can send it your way when I get home. Unfortunately, It doesn't look like the part is available anymore, I haven't been able to find it online anywhere, but I did find one at an electronic surplus store a few years back, in a junk box of keypads.

Anyhoo, looks great, and I love the shiny faceplate.

Take Care.
